Ravenna LipchikRavenna Lipchik - Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ravenna began studying the violin at age four. She made her debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra at the age of eight playing the Bach Double violin concerto. In 2005, she was granted the opportunity of playing Handle's Messiah with the Chicago Chamber Orchestra.

Ravenna participated in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra for five years, acting as concertmistress for three of those five. Participation in chamber music programs such as The Quartet Program, The Meadowmount School of Music, and Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Chamber ensembles have granted her the opportunities to study and work with such teachers as Charles Castleman, Gerardo Ribeiro, Hans Jorgen Jensen, Patricia McCarty and others.

Ravenna has participated in Master classes with Stefan Jackif, Oswald Lenhert, Stewart Goodyear, Espen Lillenslatten, Jorja Fleezanis, and members of the Meadowmount Trio.

During a year abroad in France, Ravenna was awarded the Prix de Perfectionnement- the highest diploma granted in the regional conservatories of France- in violin performance and chamber music.

Ravenna was a finalist in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition and was a Elizabeth W. Boyce Scholarship winner in the Civic Music Association young artist competition. In November, 2009, she performed Chausson's Poeme with the Menomennee Falls Symphony Orchestra as a winner of their Young Artists Competition.

Prior teachers include Jerome Franke, Anne Chevallerau, Charles Castleman, and Gerardo Ribeiro. Ravenna studies with Axel Strauss at SFCM.
