Lydia Kirchhofer Lydia Kirchhofer was born in Switzerland and started playing the piano at age five. She studied classical piano for seven years. She joined the Peninsula Youth Orchestra in 4th grade as a percussionist. In order to advance in the orchestra, she started drum lessons. Soon, her passion for percussion instruments overtook her love of the piano. Yet she found a way to combine the two loves and focused her efforts as a mallet percussionist.

Lydia studies with Peter Thielen and currently plays in the senior level of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra. She is a guest percussionist with PACO, KAMSA, and the Peninsula Symphony. She participates in her school Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band, as well as her church worship team, where she plays the drum set.

In her spare time, Lydia plays field hockey, watches new and old movies, and spends lots of time with family and friends. Lydia loves being a percussionist and thanks the Prometheus Symphony for giving her this wonderful opportunity to share her love of music.
